Practice and traditional reconstruction: structural function change of folk ritual in social transformation——a case study of two life and death rituals in G Village
The case analysis of the two life and death rituals in G Village reveals that in an increasingly individualized village society, folk rituals have undergone a transformation of "structure-anti-structure-restructure". Through the inheritance mechanism of corporatization practice, the village society has realized the structural production of life and death rituals through the strengthening of social boundaries, the inheritance of social memory, and the "performance" of individual emotions. However, in the era of village social transformation, the characteristics of the eventualization of life and death rituals, the de-charming of ritual values, and the utilitarianity of ritual functions continue to appear, and folk rituals present anti-structural aspects in practice. In the context of the great transformation of the village society, the village community is also being reconstructed in the deconstruction of urbanization, and the construction of the situational community has become an important reflection of the restructuring of the life and death ceremony. In the era of rural rejuvenation, the construction of the governance system of rural customs requires full respect for the endogenous characteristics of rural society, and then guides the modern transformation of the village community.
