Retreat to perfection: a study on the reverse mobility of rural youth under the guidance of marriage stability——based on the field investigation of B village in southeast Guizhou Province
Based on the field investigation of B village in southeast Guizhou, it was found that marriage stability was becoming an important factor affecting the reverse flow of rural youth. It was found that the structural squeeze of the marriage market, the weak ethical constraints of local culture, and the low quality support of intergenerational collaboration led to the inability of rural youth to achieve marriage in the city and the difficulty of maintaining marriage stability in the city, and reverse mobility has become a strategic choice for them under the influence of value driving and marriage crisis. Research showed that the reverse flow of rural youth helped maintain marital stability. Rural areas provided a space for young families to avoid pressure and boost cooperation between husband and wife, which helped to improve the quality of marriage relationship and establish emotional community. Meanwhile, the absorption of young families by the protective structure of local society helped to further stabilize marriage relationship. The reverse mobility under the guidance of marriage stability can guarantee the continuation of rural youth's family, but it caused the loss of the family jump opportunity and the reappearance of the underclass, whose resolution is worthy of further discussion.
