Realistic challenges and optimization paths for promoting grain⁃soybean rotation in northeast China
Under the goals of ensuring national food security and promoting green agricultural development, exploring agricultural production models that balance stable output and ecological protection has become an important issue in China's agricultural modernization. The long⁃term practice of high⁃intensity continuous cropping has led to soil fertility decline and ecological degradation, which may weaken the foundation of food security. Grain⁃soybean rotation can improve soil quality, optimize planting structure, and support sustainable agricultural development. However, in practice, its promotion is still constrained by policy, incomes, and market, and the expected effects have not been fully realized. Based on reviews of international experience, this paper analyzes the main constraints in China and put forward policy suggestions from the following aspects: improving the food security evaluation system, narrowing the income gap and strengthening risk management, optimizing subsidy design, and improving the market circulation system, which can provide implications for the steady promotion of grain⁃soybean rotation.
