Since resettlement is an important part of "The battle of poverty alleviation"， the academic community has conducted in⁃depth analysis of the life adaptability of resettled households，however，there is little discussion on the living conditions and means of livelihood of the resettled. In this paper，the qualitative research method is used to deeply decompose this question based on the H settlement in L county. The study show that the sense of well⁃being and gain of the poor households have been improved after resettlement，and their livelihood and living patterns show two different tendencies：some choose to work in the resettlement sites or surrounding areas and become stable resident； others choose to return home to farm in busy agricultural season and becoming “migratory birds”between urban and rural areas.
